Kiosk, Tablet Deployment & Ticket Printing
Prepare kiosk tablets, configure automatic ticket printing, and use the NuQueue Windows Bridge App.
NuQueue supports customer self-service ticket issuing from a kiosk tablet or touchscreen. For reliable automatic thermal ticket printing, the recommended setup is Local Print Bridge with the NuQueue Windows Bridge App.
Recommended Real-World Setup
Use a dedicated tablet or touchscreen as the customer-facing kiosk device.
Use a Windows PC or mini PC on the same local network as the thermal printer.
Run the NuQueue Windows Bridge App on the Windows device, not on the customer tablet.
Connect the thermal printer to the local network and confirm its IP address and port.
Use Local Print Bridge for silent automatic ticket printing.
Prepare the Kiosk Device
Open the Kiosk URL shown in Tenant App > Settings > Kiosk Settings.
Add the kiosk page to the tablet home screen, or use a fullscreen/kiosk browser where available.
Keep the kiosk device connected to power during business hours.
Test the kiosk page from the actual customer-facing device, not only from an admin laptop.
Configure Kiosk Behaviour
Go to Tenant App > Settings > Kiosk Settings.
Enable Auto return to kiosk after ticket issue.
Set a suitable auto-return delay, usually around 5–10 seconds.
Confirm the screen returns to the service selection page after a ticket is issued.
Configure Silent Thermal Printing
Go to Tenant App > Settings > Printer Settings.
Enable Printer Setup and Automatic Ticket Printing.
Set Print Method to Local Print Bridge.
Enter the correct thermal printer IP address and port. Most network thermal printers use port 9100.
Download the latest NuQueue Windows Bridge App from Printer Settings.
Copy the Bridge Base URL, Tenant ID, Bridge Token, printer IP, and printer port into the Windows Bridge App.
Use Test NuQueue and Test Printer before starting the bridge.
Enable Auto Start Bridge if the Windows device is dedicated for printing.
Start the bridge and issue one real kiosk ticket to confirm automatic printing.
Daily Operation Checklist
Turn on the thermal printer.
Turn on the Windows bridge device.
Open NuQueue Windows Bridge App and confirm the bridge is running.
Open the kiosk page on the customer tablet or kiosk device.
Issue one test ticket before customers start using the kiosk.
Troubleshooting
Pending print jobs: the bridge app may not be running or may not be connected to NuQueue.
Printing for more than 2 minutes: the job may be stuck. Retry it from Tenant App > Queue Management > Print Jobs.
Failed print jobs: check printer power, printer IP, printer port, network connection, and bridge token.
No silent print from tablet: most tablets cannot perform true silent thermal printing by themselves. Use Local Print Bridge with a Windows device.
Fallback: Browser Print can still be used for manual printing if the bridge setup is not available.
